Lexus's second foray into the premium compact segment is the CT 200h. The CT 200h is a FF layout in a 5 door hatchback form. It is Lexus's second dedicated hybrid model and 5th in its range of hybrid vehicles. Like the HS 250h it is a parallel hybrid model.
It is an evolution of the CF-Ch concept unveiled in Frankfurt last year. Under the bonnet you'll find a four cylinder 1.8L with VVT-i.
There are four 'drive modes' including Eco, Normal, EV and Sport. EV drives on battery power alone(range has not been announced) while eco regulates functions such as A/C to increase efficiency. Sport mode sharpens the electric steering inputs and throttle response sensitivity. Like the HS and the Prius much effort was put into making the CT as aerodynamic as possible.
17" wheels are standard as well as a high level of interior quality. No word yet on whether AWD will be offered. To my eyes from the A pillar back it looks similar in shape to a Mazda 3 Hatchback. Not the most original design but it fits in with the other cars in the Lexus linup.
