2010 Subaru WRX STI Special Edition

The Subaru WRX STI Special Edition is the top performance machine available from Subaru in the U.S.  However, the Subaru brass have deemed it unnecessary to offer the car in Canada.  This is a shame since it is the model to buy if your into track days or autocross.

The STI SE offers the same engine as the base STI, but where it stands out is in its chassis and suspension.  They have taken the suspension setup off a JDM STI spec C, which includes higher spring rates (16% stiffer up front and 29% stiffer in back) and 1mm thicker & stiffer rear anti-roll bars then added lighter 18" BBS rims to improve the unsprung weight.  To make things even better this car retails for $32,995 USD, a full $2,000 dollars cheaper than the regular STI model at $34,995.In the name of speed and a lower price, Subaru removed some "non-essential to go fast" items.  "Does automatic climate control make u faster?", the answer is no, so its gone.  The same can be said for the 6-disc CD changer, it's ditched for single-disc/4 speaker setup, HID headlamps are swapped for halogens.  The rest of the STI SE remains exactly the same as the base STI.

The first 125 iterations of the car will be offered in Aspen white, following that the STI SE will be available in all the usual STI colours.

If you want the best STI available you will have to go state-side to get one, for now.  Although Subaru Canada does offer a variant of the STI, the Sport-Tech package is $5,000 dollars more expensive than the base $40,000 STI and doesn't offer what the SE does.
