2011MY Subaru WRX goes W i d e - Body

When the Subaru Impreza lineup was systematically destroyed in terms of design a couple years ago I was upset, I thought the new Impreza looked like a Kia crossed with a Corolla, in short, a disaster.  It lost its quirkiness and worst of all it lost its fender blisters.  Since those dark days the design has grown on me as Subaru has tried to make amends by making the design less hideous.

Today is a new day for Subaru and I.  In a press release today Subaru gave us the edge back.  At the NYC Auto Show, Subaru, will unveil a heavy face-lifted Impreza WRX lineup.

Around front the WRX has a new front fascia, which includes a new squared off lower air-intake, side vents with integrated fog lights that flank integrated brake cooling ducts.  Below the hood scoop sits dark chrome bezeling around the grill.  Take a step to the side and you'll see a wider track, this is made very apparent by the Legacy-esque fenders bulges that were erased from the previous model.

Subaru has come full circle and given us a revamped sportier looking car.

We can't wait to see the car in NYC.

Below compare the 2011 model to the base 2010 model:
